I'm like, what are we doing here? I stopped calling permits.

And kept doing projects, and I got about six projects deep before I got a letter in the mail.

I say this in a, in my live show that, that I would not be able to have done this without Heidi.

Like, she supported me from the very beginning.

There was a point where I was working I don't know how many different side jobs while making a video every week, while trying to be a good dad, while still auditioning whenever I could, and she was working full-time, non-profit, making not much.

And I kinda broke down.

Yeah.

How did you get started with Dude Dad?

Okay, so I grew up in South Dakota and then moved out to Los Angeles when I was right after college to pursue acting and entertainment.

And then, so I pursued that for about 10 years, but about, I want to say like seven and a half years in or so is when Heidi got pregnant.

um and and then it was kind of like a kind of a you know big wake-up call because i like had some success i was on jimmy kimmel and his sketches probably 10 times booked some commercials booked a couple you know bit roles on tv shows but not enough to like sustain a family you know so but i've been making youtube videos the whole time just kind of on and off with different people and uh so when we when we, you know, found out we were pregnant, I kind of started thinking like, okay, we might have to like ditch this whole Hollywood dream thing.

I might have to move back to the Midwest.

And so I wanted just like a way to stay creative while being a dad.

And that's when I came up with the idea of Dude Dad.
