My name is Tait Garcia, and I am an administrative assistant for our executive department here at City Hall.

I've worked for the city for 10 years, and on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, I was 8 years old.

How I found out about the attacks was that I went to school that day and when I got into the classroom, everyone was huddled kind of in our reading circle and we had the classroom TV on and it was playing the news of the attack.

I've spoken to other people my age, and it seems like that was a pretty common story.

So even though that might sound kind of strange or shocking now to do, that was apparently something very common back then.
