12:02
... with something like a 458 Lott.
12:03
I got a, I got a story real quick.
12:05
This one was also in Africa.
12:07
Uh, most of my big hunting, like big gun hunting, has been in Africa.
12:11
Like, I think a 3...
12:12
Well, I shot a 309 Warbird That's a 416 Rigby necked down to a 30 cal.
12:17
But, um, when I was in Africa, we, we shot, and this, this 375, we both shot at an animal and we both wounded one.

20:29
definitely useful
20:31
i've done it with antelope too and like a antelope busted out antelope are so curious that you cow call at them and they'll like stop and look at you I did it once.
20:41
So this is the crazy story with a cow call.
20:43
This is the power of a cow out call.
20:45
Okay.
20:46
We saw, we were actually elk hunting.
20:47
I was with a buddy that had a really good archery tag and I just had a deer tag cause I just had a general season tag in Idaho.

33:18
nice uh let's talk about like the the pack stuff i was i was watching some of the stuff and you were some of your videos and you were talking about just like what people take what they don't take you know and like you know uh people pack too much gear which is 100 true uh so what's your belief here on the whole daily gear thing and where does that come from
3:50
that man tell us tell us a little bit about your background and like like this this is i'm really intrigued with your business here
3:57
Well, I was born in 95.
3:58
No, I'm just, we won't start there.
4:01
Uh, so I, I, I've been a guide for most of my adult life.
4:06
I'm 31 right now.
4:07
I'm still fairly young, but I think I started guiding when I was 23.
4:10
I want to say, um, and i love guiding i love being in the outdoors a lot and honestly the reason i got into guiding is i was like i wanted to hunt more my wife didn't want me to hunt so i was like well honey what if i got paid to go hunting uh and she she was like well i guess as long as you're working it's fine so then it became an unhealthy habit to guide uh but we made good i mean we made decent money from it i did that for two or three or four years before i started my own business uh honestly i was a pretty horrible outfitter when i first started my business but there's a learning curve just like there is to anything um and after a while i was you know we were doing really really well and i i just noticed myself becoming a little bit disillusioned from the idea of having somebody rent my experience and my legs for a week i i really enjoyed taking the cow well cunners that just wanted to come because they couldn't afford anything else and they wanted to learn how to do it diy um and i realized that i i i wanted to switch my guiding career to be something different from a regular guide I'm not smack talking guides.

43:50
You know, that gets hunters
2:21
Carry on, Tate
2:22
... there's a lot of great information in podcasts and on YouTube.
2:26
I mean, I've done hundreds of YouTube videos at this point.
2:30
And, but I think that there's somewhat of a misunderstanding, but I think that there's also...
2:39
The misunderstanding I think could be boiled down to one sentence, is that gear does not make up for a lack of confidence in the mountains.

16 MINS LATER

19:03
What type of rifle are they talking about that they already have?
19:06
Generally, it's something like this or even nicer, honestly.
19:09
A lot of times guys will call and say, "Hey, my 270's not big enough for elk.
9:16
... about hunting Mexico?
9:18
The biggest thing is the cartels are here for business.
9:21
And, and most times, I would say 99.9% of the time, the cartels don't want anything to do with Americans for a couple of reasons.
9:32
One is that the cartels have their hands in the tourist business, so they're actually making money from people coming here, and if they start having severe issues with tourism, then they stop making as much money.
9:46
Now, another thing is, is, is if they start doing something like that, then, I mean, especially with the president we currently have in office, he's gonna start doing something pretty drastic.
9:55
But most Americans are gonna be forced into doing it regardless of the president if they start kidnapping a lot of Americans.
10:01
Now, it's not to say that they couldn't do it, but it doesn't happen often.

22 MINS LATER

31:45
About knocked the table over, guys.
