So then who tends to benefit the most from harm reduction as an approach?
4:20
Ooh, that is a very interesting question, 'cause when, when you say that, I'm thinking about like people who don't even use drugs, and like the way that they can benefit from people who are utilizing harm reduction.
4:33
But with the people who are actually using, whether it's somebody who's drinking, whether it's somebody who's using, um, substances, I feel like technically any- anybody can, can benefit from it.
4:47
Even if you are in like the most chaotic of your use, right? And, you know, maybe you're someone who drinks super heavily, and when you drink super heavily, you know, now you're on a bender with cocaine.
4:58
Like, those usually a lot of times go together.
5:01
Maybe you're going balls to the wall, but maybe you're gonna test that cocaine, right? And like make sure that there's no, you know, illicit fentanyl in it.
5:09
Like, you can still be balls to the wall and still make a few safer choices.

How does naloxone work, and how did it specifically save your life?
13:23
We're not the same person, so [laughs] it's like...
13:28
Yeah.
13:28
And also, it's like a really complicated topic when you're in it, especially in the beginning of, of going into the rooms, because you are like in this stage of like, "Who am I, like as this sober person?" You know, like, "Who, who am I gonna be now? Like now I have this new recovery ahead of me, like who am I?" And like, you know, the messaging like, "You don't know who you are." You- you know, all this stuff of like all this...
13:50
Like when you're using and, and we're told all these negative things, right, about who we are and who we are when we're using and how, you know, our, our growth is stunted the first time we take a drink or a drug.
14:02
Or like, you know, all this messaging that we get, right, about how we don't know who the hell we are.
14:07
And then you go to these rooms, right, and you go for help, and then you're handed this identity on the pl- on the platter, and when you don't have...
14:15
Like I know for me, like I went there in my early 20s, like I didn't really know who my personality was without using because I had started partying went seventh grade summer going into eighth grade.
19:05
And to be how I am wired instead of trying to be something I am not actually is, like, everything.
