If you could just give us a little bit of an overview about your path to pediatric ophthalmology and what originally got you interested in, in this particular field?
1:49
Well, I actually matched into pediatrics out of medical school.

I'm certainly not the only person who has, who has done this, this kind of a road from pediatrics to ophthalmology.

But during my second year of peds residency, I-- At that point, I hadn't really decided what I wanted to do y-yet, and a lot of my classmates were starting to make decisions on whether to go into practice or go into a fellowship.

And thera- at, at that time, I did a month-long pediatric ophthalmology elective, and I was trying to… I was thinking about why I, why I did that elective, why I picked that elective.

And I think one of the reasons was I, I started wearing glasses in second grade.

Um, so that's, that's a time that I can kind of participate in the exam.

How did you navigate applying to ophthalmology while you were still pediatrics resident, and what's something that you either found maybe easier or harder than expected going into that process?
