And that question is, you know, what, what, if anything, from either your early life experiences, your upbringing, or even in your early career has kind of led you into what you're doing today, and maybe led you to write in your book, tell us a bit about your story.
3:56
Yeah, so when I was a child, I was sexually abused.
4:03
I did not know this when it was happening.
4:06
It was something that I came to know as a teenager.
4:12
My parents got divorced when I was, they started the divorce process, I should say, when I was about second to third grade timeframe of my life.
4:27
And there were just many years of kind of back and forth with them.
4:35
And so by the time I was a teenager, I started to have memories of some abuse in my life.

And I know we just shared this a few minutes ago, but tell us a little bit about who Suzanne is and what motivates you now at this stage of life.

I think one of the things that's always been deeply important to me, and it's, it's a lot of the reason that I went into higher education in the first place, is I'm somebody who likes to learn.
2:56
I like new challenges.
2:58
I like to be engaged in multiple activities at one time.
3:04
But I also have, yeah, I think a, a sort of guiding principle throughout my career has been really a desire to be of service to others and to be of service in really helping to build and enrich the communities that I've lived in.
3:20
And so the work that I've gotten to do in higher education in two and four-year institutions has been very much centered on that, that work.
