Ms. Adeli, you are recognized for three minutes of your testimony.
19:56
Thank you.
19:59
The U.S. economic blockade on Cuba violates Jews' co-judiced norms of international law and the U.S. Charter, particularly the principle of sovereign equality under Article 2.1. For over three decades, the UN General Assembly has passed annual resolutions by overwhelming majorities condemning the blockade and demanding its end.
20:19
The UN Human Rights Council has also affirmed that these unilateral coercive measures breach international humanitarian and human rights law.
20:28
Despite global consensus, the blockade not only continues, but has been intensified since January of 2026.
20:36
New measures including a crippling fuel embargo affecting all economic and social sectors, coercive actions against individuals in key industries, and extraterritorial secondary sanctions that infringe on the sovereignty of third states.
20:50
These actions are accompanied by US threats of illegal military aggression.

Can you say a little bit more of what the implications are and why isn't the international community getting involved in speaking up as loudly as they might in other situations similar to what we're seeing in Cuba, I think?
20:22
Go, move.
20:23
Okay.
20:24
So, [laughs] um, so the National Lawyers Guild, um, along with many of the organizations that have already kind of been mentioned, and also were in the report, um, have, have a long history of sending delegations to Cuba.
20:43
Um, and, you know, I'm proud to say that, um, it, there's been a history with the NLG of, of, of integrity and, um, and, you know, with full support for the Cuban Revolution and, and, um, the aspirations of that revolution.
21:05
Um, and over the years, you know, we, we've sent many delegations and, you know, sort of during, uh, my tenure, um, in the Guild, not so much just as president, but just as a member, um, you know, I, I've gone on delegations that have had different purposes.
21:23
And some, you know, were to sort of en- en- engage, um, with comrades to celebrate, you know, an important day for the world, May Day.
21:34
Others were, um, specifically to join conferences with, uh, legal colleagues, um, and international conferences, and other delegations were for the purpose of taking a very, very close look at the impacts of the blockade, uh, which is something that Karina and I did with a small NLG delegation, which we then used as part of the hearing, uh, that we had on the, um, on the blockade on Cuba that was part of a larger international tribunal, um, on economic coercive measures.

Um, could you talk about these, uh, these statements, these initiatives, what is being done here in the belly of the beast to resist? Um, Suzanne, do you wanna start off here?
