Um, but then, I mean, for you, Susannah, when you, when you found the script or when the thing was on the table, what was the, the initial impulse that thought, you know, "This had to be something that I did"?

did"?Well, I, in, in a way it's what Adrian's just said.

It's very rare, you know, a- as a woman I suppose particularly, to find a role where you get to be all bits of yourself.

And there's so much wonderful comedy, like even farce really, slapstick farce in there.

There's the most emotional moments that you could imagine.

There's poetry, there's, there's really direct speech.

There's, you know, th- there's big em- sort of eventful scenes and then small really quiet scenes.

And but, but there's something about in the 2020s it feels like it's now hit its stride as a classic text that everyone's gravitating towards

Aw.

And we had this kind of magical night of going, [laughs] oh my God.

And then the day, s- the day after, I started to get all these awful pains and, um, and we actually decided to go and get some food because I think he thought we, me having something to eat might help.

[laughs] We really didn't know what we were doing or what was going on.

And, and yeah, so I, I miscarried that pregnancy.

Um, but it was one of, it was sort of one of these sort of mad things that happen in your life.

This lovely woman from this pharmacy could see I was in a lot of pain, and she came out and she said, "Are you okay?" And this was all in Spanish, and my Spanish is pretty [laughs] you know, not bad, but it's not, you know, it's not kind of medical grade.

... who would it be to, and what would you say?

Um, for those who don't know it, how would you sum it up and your part within it?

Uh, well, in terms of the traditional and the original play, it's really quite different to the one that we are, um, that we're staging.

But I suppose the sort of top line is that it's about a man who has an extremely large nose, um, how that impacts his self-esteem and his ability to profess his love for Roxane, the character that I play.

And so when a, a young, handsome soldier arrives in town, Cyrano and he strike up a, an agreement that, um, he will write love letters for, for the young soldier who isn't so great with words.

Um, and I end up falling in love with his face.

Um, but it's a kind of, yeah, twists and turns.

There's comedy, there's heartache.

Um, a bit, I gather it's not, it's a slightly different verse format to the original though, which is couplets, isn't it? It's Alexander.
