got into it because I had lived in poor areas in slums in Manila.

I hadn't been a Christian very long.

So I became a Christian in 1981, moved to Manila in 1986 and had four years living with the poor, right immersed with the poor and experienced Christianity from their point of view and had to review and reflect on my experience of Christianity for six years from a Western point of view and just noticed the differences.

And then we had some issues in the team that we were in and that began deeper questionings.

We came home, we had our first son out there.
