Can you explain what, I'm sorry, Sunrise, can you explain to me what your organization is exactly and really this idea of the broader organization, you know, access to justice?
2:04
Yeah, absolutely.
2:06
So Idaho Legal Aid is a nonprofit that provides free lawyers to Idahoans who are most vulnerable and at risk.
2:15
So that's survivors of domestic violence, low income families, seniors, people with disabilities.
2:23
We have seven offices across the state.
2:25
We only do civil cases, so our largest practice areas are representing survivors of domestic violence in their custody and divorce cases and protection order cases, representation of families that have received you know eviction notices or need help with repairs issues in their homes and then representation of seniors and people with disabilities on issues like consumer law access to benefits like medicaid to pay for long-term care so those are our largest practice areas we have seven offices across the state we have anywhere from 20 to 22 attorneys on staff depending on funding that provide that direct representation to idahoans in need And then Access to Justice Idaho is a larger fundraising effort that Idaho Legal Aid, Disability Rights Idaho, and Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program that we do together where we kind of talk to the community about what the need is for civil legal aid and try and raise funds to support all three of our programs in the coming year.
