I know you don't like to brag, but you got to show some of that big impact.
5:08
Sure.
5:09
So when I first came in in 2019, I was actually the commissioner of finance and administration.
5:13
I was over the budget.
5:14
And when I was in that role, the state's budget was about $25 billion.
5:22
So think about the growth.
5:25
And it's not, you know, the way the state budget works is very different than, you know, what we would be used to in business.

That's probably why you like it.
3:30
And then we'll kind of take it from there.
3:31
Yeah.
3:31
So again, thanks for having me.
3:33
Appreciate this.
3:35
So I am an appointment of the governor.
3:37
I'm one of 23 department commissioners, the state agencies that really are all part of the governor's administration, executive branch of state government.
3:50
Actually, my first job under Governor Lee was the commissioner of finance administration, which is basically the state CFO position.

Like, it's so frustrating.
7:15
Have you ever had to claw back?
7:17
Oh, we, we claw back.
7:18
I mean, look, um, it is, is a tough discussion to have with a company because they don't sign these thinking they may or may not make it.
7:27
Uh, I think they really and truly w- you know, plan to perform, but we do.
7:32
And, um, you know, sometimes it can be all of it, or most oftentimes it's just a portion of that.
7:40
It's rare.
7:41
Uh, but they understand what they're signing, and we go after the money.
12:17
But I, I get a sense that they're trying to, to sort of change that reputation.
