So from a guy who's been doing this his whole life, what does this mean to the robotic industry? Well,
10:53
a lot of times we spend too much time focused on grip strength, and we overdo the grip strength just to make sure we've got the product.
11:01
Right.
11:01
And that takes energy.
11:03
So as we start to look at being more efficient and right-sizing grippers and grasping units, these kinds of things, How do we know that we have grasped the product in the most efficient way? Do we really need five fingers or can we do it with three? Can we feel slippage? If we're not gripping it enough, there's a part slipping and do we need to increase grip force to keep an accident from happening? There's several different things that in the binary world are just open close.
11:30
We never captured that information.
11:32
So now we can make better choices.
