So Steven, uh, I would be really, uh, remiss not asking you, um, what aspects of healthcare do you think are important for people to understand? Because sometimes it's a big, huge, uh, difficult, uh, process to try to really figure out if you're not in healthcare working in it.
2:43
Yeah.
2:44
Um, the, the, the, the major issues when we deal with wealth care, uh, as you, as you point out, is access to healthcare, um, and depending on where you live, whether you, whether you have access.
3:02
Um, another major issue is the corporatization, I think, of medicine, that we've gone from, uh, community-owned hospitals, uh, particularly in rural America, to hospitals are now part of major systems, um, which dictate what services can be provided or, uh, they're owned by, um... [clears throat] I don't know that it makes any difference anymore whether you call yourself nonprofit or for-profit.
3:32
They all operate the same.
3:34
Uh, but the one major change that we've seen in the last five years is the entrance of private equity firms, um, buying up particularly rural hospitals, and so we might wanna talk about that.
3:51
Um, and then the whole thing about, um, uh, that's been in the news lately, because Congress has been debating whether or not to continue the subsidies under the Affordable Care Act for the health insurance exchanges, um, and what the differences are there, uh, and how that impacts the ability of people to get into healthcare.
