So this ransom note is full of all kinds of details, and we could probably spend a whole day just picking it apart.

But just to begin with here, and I'm going to contrast this to the Nancy Guthrie ransom note a little bit.

Both of them started with like a salutation.

And in that case, it wasn't so much that there was a salutation that caught my attention.

It was how it was done.

But here, the fact that there is this one that says Mr. Ramsey, it's completely unnecessary.

Um, Again, if I'm going to start with the presupposition that this is a kidnapping that is meant to coerce money from Savannah Guthrie, directness is what I expect.

So I'm looking at what the expectation would be is to create a sense of urgency.

And the word hello sort of It sort of denies us that urgency.

It adds, it slows down the pace of the introduction.
