11:01
What does that sequence tell you about how things played out in those few moments?
11:07
Well, it tells me that he was able to get from an area where he could shoot into a car into a hallway or a classroom where he could shoot into kids in 180 seconds.
11:18
And this is a crucial time.
11:21
And, you know, I've responded to school shootings.
11:25
I taught active shooter response.
11:27
And one of the things we knew was that if you can delay shooting, a shooter at your door for two, three minutes, the police will arrive.
11:38
And so the security that we are putting in our schools is designed to slow the person down.

13 MINS LATER

24:23
What do you think this powder likely is and who do you think is behind it?
38:45
Well, I listened to you
38:46
... exactly, [laughs] I would've said exactly what you said.
38:49
Uh, h- listen, uh, in addition to all the points that you made, how about the fact that we have, uh, fewer Americans on unemployment insurance than any other time in history? How about that we have the lowest poverty rate, Dan, in hi- in, uh, at least the last 50 years, and probably in American history under Donald Trump? These are things that are not reported-
39:26
Oh, okay
39:26
... because when you, when you just look at the Census Bureau data, uh, the pre-tax income, adjusted for inflation, is up about $2,000.
39:35
But you have to add on top of that the $2,000 tax cut that the family got.
39:40
So in my opinion, you were off, my friend, by...
39:43
You understated the gain by 1 to $2,000 per family.
82:19
And tell us more about the FBI and its role in all of this and what can be done in terms of the resources it can provide right now, Steve.
82:30
Yeah, the FBI was probably on the way the first moment that call came out.
82:37
I responded to a school shooting in Los Angeles because it came over the radio.
82:42
This is one of those things where every single law enforcement officer, every officer with a gun is going to head towards that school.
82:52
Once this happens, the FBI is going to have...
82:58
They're going to have to help determine what the motive was.
83:01
Was this terrorism of some kind? Was this was this hate crime or was this guy just absolutely nuts? But it's going to be absent that it's going to be a state crime.
86:02
And that raises the question, how do teams on the ground really know the scene is truly secure?
66:39
[laughs]
66:40
So, you know, inflation was raging out of control, and that was, that ruined the economy.
66:44
So, uh, what, what is driving the inflation, I just want to make sure your listeners, and I think they do understand this, it's really one factor.
66:52
It's oil prices.
66:53
And so i- if we can get those oil prices and the diesel prices down, that will drive down the cost of everything.
67:00
I think that's going to happen in the next couple of months.
67:02
I don't know if it's going to happen fast enough to save the Republicans, but that's where we are right now.
71:04
Why is that?
32:49
[laughs]
32:50
... [laughs] on the stuff.
32:51
So, you know, inflation was raging out of control, and that was, that ruined the economy.
32:55
So, uh, what, what is driving the inflation, I just want to make sure your listeners, and I think they do understand this, it's really one factor.
33:03
It's oil prices.
33:05
And so i- if we can get those oil prices and the diesel prices down, that will drive down the cost of everything.
33:11
I think that's gonna happen in the next couple of months.
37:15
Why is that?
4:34
[laughs]
4:34
So, you know, inflation was raging out of control, and that was, that ruined the economy.
4:39
So, uh, what, what is driving the inflation, I just want to make sure your listeners, and I think they do understand this, it's really one factor.
4:46
It's oil prices.
4:48
And so i- if we can get those oil prices and the diesel prices down, that will drive down the cost of everything.
4:54
I think that's gonna happen in the next couple of months.
4:57
I don't know if it's gonna happen fast enough to save the Republicans, but that's where we are right now.
8:59
Why is that?
2:41
... back in the 1970s things were a lot worse," that means nothing under, if you're under the age of 50.
2:47
Well, so let me just say a couple things about this.
2:49
First of all, I, I acknowledge that, you know, we, inflation's too high, and that is a problem.
2:54
But you look at the rest of the economy, oh, my God, I mean, the economy's smoking right now.
2:59
We've got, we've got a all-time high in construction.
3:02
We've got manufacturing jobs coming back.
3:05
We have an all-time low number of people who are, um, in the unemployment insurance system.
5:04
What do we do about that?
28:07
And, uh, I understand from my oil refinery guys, the price of diesel is dropping on the markets.
28:13
Well, that could...
28:14
Yeah, I mean, you're the expert on the energy industry, not me.
28:17
But if you, if you're talking about that amount of additional diesel, you're gonna be talking about, you know, I don't know, 50 cents a gallon reduction in the, in the price.
28:26
What I'd like to see in addition to that, I want the president to suspend the federal gas and diesel tax, which would also provide about another 25 or 30 cent reduction in the price.
28:37
And then when the price naturally comes down, then we can reinstate the gas tax.
28:41
But what, what's the point of having a high gas tax right now when, when the price is so high? So there are steps that could be done.
30:28
Because it's not, it's not fair that you're gonna build a data center and, and enrich your- yourself and let the other, uh, let the regular people in the state, uh, worry about it.
1:43
And uh, I understand from my oil refinery guys, the price of diesel is dropping on the markets.
1:49
Well, that could...
1:49
Yeah, I mean, you're the expert on the energy industry, not me.
1:52
But if you're, if you're talking about that amount of additional diesel, you're gonna be talking about, you know, I don't know, 50 cents a gallon reduction in the, in the price.
2:02

2:16
But what, what's the point of having a high gas tax right now when, when the price is so high? So there are steps that can be done.
3:57
... and not take it out of the rest of the people's, the rest of the people in the state because it's not, it's not fair that you're gonna build a data center and, and enrich yourself and let the other, uh, let the regular people in the state, uh, worry about it.

30:58
But what, what's the point of having a high gas tax right now when, when the price is so high? So there are steps that could be done.
31:04
Do you know, John, I mean, I know you know this, but I think a lot of people are not aware of this, we have not built a, a refinery in this country in 50 years, and yet we're producing more oil and gas than ever before.
32:38
... and not take it out of the rest of the people's, the rest of the people in the state because it's not, it's not fair that you're gonna build a data center and, and enrich your- yourself and let the other, uh, let the regular people in the state, uh, worry about it.

Because it's do- it's not fair that you're gonna build a data center and, and enrich your- yourself, and let the other, uh, let the regular people in the state, uh, worry about it.
30:44
They got more major cities than New York does.
30:46
Yep, yep.
30:47
So, uh, this would be such a, uh, a shot of steroids into the butt of the New York economy if they could do that.
30:57
It would be such a game changer.
31:00
Uh, I don't think, um, Kathy Hochul is likely to do that, but, uh, you can put the Republicans in, they might go for that.
31:06
I mean, it's, it's, it's...
31:08
It would be so revolutionary.
32:33
We're paying for all these green things.
97:40
They got more major cities than New York does.
97:42
Yep, yep.
97:43
So, uh, this would be such a, uh, a shot of steroids into the butt of the New York economy if they could do that.
97:53

98:02
I mean, it's, it's, it's...
98:04
It would be so revolutionary.
99:29
We're paying for all this green stuff.
4:50
They got more major cities than New York does.
4:52
Yep, yep.
4:54
So, uh, this would be such a, uh, a shot of steroids into the butt of the New York economy if they could do that.

6:39
We're paying for all this green stuff.

97:33
Immediate tax relief, Steve
97:35
SteveYou know, until, uh, this morning, I'd never heard of red diesel before [laughs], and so this is a new one on me.
97:43
But you know, what we've been recommending is that you could probably cut, uh, by almost tomorrow 50 cents a gallon, uh, off of the price that people are paying around the country by just a temporary suspension of the federal gasoline, uh, tax, which is about 24 cents a gallon.
98:00
And then you, uh, these ridiculous, um, what they call blending requirements where you have to put corn in your tank.
98:06
Did you know they, where you use ethanol and all these other things?
speaker_3UNKNOWN
98:09
Mm.
98:09
Those are a- those are estimated to add about 30 cents a gallon.
98:12
Why not, Dagen and Brian, just say, "We're gonna temporarily suspend these measures to bring gas prices down"? You could see in a matter of days that price being posted 50 cents to 60 cents lower.
33:07
What's going on in this country economically?
33:10
Well, listen, this is a blockbuster economy in so many ways.
33:13
Now, I understand people are upset about paying $4.29 a gallon for gasoline, and that is a problem.
33:20
But if you look at so many of these other elements of the economy, and just since the last time you and I talked, which was a month or two ago, the numbers just keep getting better.
33:30
So, for example, just the other day, The Energy Department reported that we are in the United States producing more oil and gas than any other time in American history.
33:41
More oil and gas.
33:42
We're the number one producer of oil and gas.
35:06
It's a lot lower than it was just two or three years ago, isn't it? Yes.
10:04
And w- the whole idea that, uh, AI's the most deadly weapon on Earth, could wipe us all out, isn't that more reason why we have to be the ones to control it, not China?
10:13
Who do you want to be in charge of this, folks, the United States or China and Beijing and President Xi that wants to destroy us? Uh, we will use it m- for good, and they [laughs] will use it for evil.
10:23
I mean, remember, uh, you know, the...
10:26
Look, China and President Xi only have one objective, and that is to knock America off our pedestal as the world economic superpower.
10:33
So let's, let's not play into their hands by, uh, not moving forward technologically.
10:39
You know, you and I have talked about this a lot, Mark, but the United States completely dominated the internet age.
10:45
We, you know, we had great companies like Apple and Google and, uh, th- you know, uh, uh, NVIDIA, and, uh, and so on.
12:08
Yeah, Jeff Bezos.
3:14
Steve, I was talking to Larry before, Larry Kudlow, and he tells me the inflation numbers are great.
3:21
Well, look, I agree almost with everything that Rita just said.
3:25
We're just getting more and more good news on the economy.
3:28
And yet we still have this problem where, as you know, Congresswoman, people are still feeling the strain of higher oil prices.
3:34
But it's a success story.
3:36
And the media, other than this station and maybe Fox News, nobody else is telling the story of the fact we have record manufacturing, record construction, the fact that we have record, just announced today, record oil production, more than any other time in American history.
3:51
We've got more jobs than people to fill them.
92:00
Steve, welcome back.
92:02
Hey Lars, good to be with you.
92:03
And this is a real social and economic tragedy what's going on in America right now.
92:11
It's beyond just economics.
92:13
It's what's happening with, there are now 31 million young males, by that I define between the ages of 21 and 40, that are unmarried.
92:23
And that's twice as many This was the case, you know, 30 years ago.
92:27
And so you've got a lot of men who don't have jobs because the labor force participation rate of men has declined.
96:30
What do you
53:46
Can you compare the notes between those big economic policies and the gas tank that we have to fill up every week?
53:53
Well, I mean, there's so much good news on the economy.
53:56
I mean, the fact that we have a record investment in the country, the fact that we have the best stock market in the world right now, the last 10 years, our market has doubled and everybody else has been pretty flat line.
54:07
We have a construction boom going on because of AI and data centers.
54:10
We have a manufacturing boom going on because of the Trump tax cuts.
54:14
We have the lowest crime rates in 50 years.
54:17
We have just, you know, in terms of the jobs market today, for skilled jobs, there are more jobs open than there are people to fill them.
55:58
How much of an economic impact has illegal immigration had on our system?
8:56
Can you compare the notes between those big economic policies and the gas tank that we have to fill up every week?
9:03
Well, I mean, there's so much good news on the economy.
9:05
I mean, the fact that we have record investment in the country, the fact that we have the best stock market in the world right now, last 10 years, our market has doubled and everybody else has been pretty flatline.
9:16
We have a construction boom going on because of AI and data centers.
9:20
We have a manufacturing boom going on because of the Trump tax cuts.
9:24
We have the lowest crime rates in 50 years.
9:26
We have just, you know, in terms of the jobs market today, For skilled jobs, there are more jobs open than there are people to fill them.
11:08
How much of an economic impact has illegal immigration had on our system?
speaker_11ADVERTISER
11:29
Let us surprise you.
11:33
when you read the newspapers or turn on CNN, it's all about the affordability crisis.
11:37
So, um, that's frustrating as a Trump person because, uh, so much of what Trump has done has been so fantastic.
11:45
I mean, the fact that we've cut illegal immigration to zero, that's pretty amazing when you think about what happened under Biden or 6 million illegal immigrants came into the country.
11:53
And so, um, I'm, I'm a little bit frustrated because people, you know, Trump's approval ratings are down.
12:00
Um, and yet, So much of what he's done for the economy has been positive.
12:05
Now, obviously, the thing that is sticking out like a sore thumb right now is the high gas price.
12:52
How much of an economic impact has illegal immigration had on our system?
35:34
I mean, the people that you would, if you went back and looked who's had dealings with Nancy for the last six months, do you think crossed everybody off that list when you're eight, nine months in?
35:44
The first list, yes.
35:46
But the first list is really intended to help you define a smaller second list.
35:53
And that is where they are.
35:55
I don't know if they're on their third or fourth level, but each time they're adding people and subtracting people from the list.
36:05
And there are revisions every day in a case that's moving quickly, probably not on the case at this point.
36:12
But, yeah, they've gone through and done the most obvious persons and added and added and added.

8 MINS LATER

44:06
Is it just us being antsy? Do you still feel confident? Or are you starting to think like, oh, this isn't looking good?
101:18
That's not the way to do it, is it?
101:21
No, it's not going to work.
101:22
And that will actually make gas prices higher, and it won't really bring down diesel prices.
101:29
So, bad idea.
101:31
But, you know, politicians, when they face a crisis, they always have to do something, right? Even if it's a bad idea, they have to.
101:36
So there's a better idea, by the way.
101:38
One is to, you know, let's get that Strait of Hormuz open.
106:38
It is killing their business on their websites, isn't it?
28:58
That's not the way to do it, is it?
29:01
No, it's not going to work.
