so let's talk about the fact that you can't just motivate anyone and it has to always be like self self-generated before we move on to the carrot and the stick management analogy which I think we'll have a good chat about Steve do you want to talk to me about the idea of self-generated motivation how do we get that cooking but
14:03
You've got to define the old levers that we used to use to, you know, the carrot and the stick and why don't they work, right? The stick approach, I don't believe that has a strong effect on motivation because if you let somebody go, for most people, they're re-employed within a few months.
14:21
That's the reality.
14:23
Even if they're not, you know, we're fortunate in the culture that we live in where nobody goes to the poor house, right? So we have support systems to help people.
14:31
The old lever of the stick is not effective anymore.
14:35
And the carrot, the idea of throwing more money at it.
14:39
Well, for most of us, money exists only as a number on a phone screen.

20:55
Shall we look then at like the difference between the two here then when it comes to unlocking motivation? Steve, do you want to talk us through
32:59
Right.
33:01
The reason we did that, we had, we had found that bank years before, but at the time Scott felt it was too large for him to do alone because of the, you know, where the vault was in relation to the lobby, it was just a bigger bank.
33:14
And so, but this time we figured that, you know, because Viggins was there, he would just maintain the lobby and hold everything down there so he could concentrate in the, in the vault.
33:23
But yeah, it was, we had to change up.
33:26
We had to change it up from the three banks scenario.
33:29
And like Sean said, we were, decided to rob this little bank in the same area.
33:33
I was logging, you know, waiting for the frequency to come out, the call to come out.
38:13
that was yeah steve steve take me up to take me up to your point of view all right it's it's it's it's thanksgiving if you guys are getting ready what's the atmosphere because in the doc it said you guys never really talked on your way to to work you know you just kind of were in your own your own

[laughs]
0:31
Wow.
0:31
Thank you, Courtney.
0:32
Really, really appreciate the music.
0:34
What a, what a blessing to come together and worship God and, uh, be edified by beautiful music, so we certainly do appreciate that.
0:42
Well, since I have some notes, I guess I might as well go ahead with the sermon anyway.
0:46
[laughs] We've probably all been in a situation where you've been driving along, uh, maybe even heading back home, and you come to a familiar crossroad and there's that sign that kind of appeared out of nowhere that says, "Road closed." Anybody experience that? And we're all overjoyed by seeing that because now we've got to go a different way.

2:03
[laughs]
48:23
Wow.
48:23
And so this was predicated on us knowing each district's megahertz, its own frequency on each district.
48:32
Everything was purchased, the vehicles.
48:34
I don't even know what happened to the vehicle.
48:35
He had it s- parked somewhere with a friend or something.
48:38
And we bought extra vehicles, and we had th- 'cause we were gonna have one drop off and then another.
48:42
I mean, it was all planned out.

10 MINS LATER

59:06
Yeah.
39:31
Yeah
39:31
... randomly going, so they never get caught up in one channel if there's another, you know.
39:36
So this was a problem.
39:37
You couldn't, for us to do this robbery, there was no way we could do three, and plus we knew they had the ProNet tags in there, so we had that problem.
39:48
And we couldn't do three in a row not having resolved the ProNet problem, you know, how we get, you know, divert those.
39:55
And then we had the scanner problem, we had the frequency problem, so we were dealing with two different things.
39:59
And that's how, after that we aborted the three, and we had a bank that we wanted to do years prior.

Yeah
0:00
What a blessing it is.
0:20
You might say, well, that's strange, but maybe not for you.
0:23
I don't know.
0:25
Reason being, our niece about three weeks ago was in Louisville, and she had qualified for the national championships for junior high archery.
0:38
And so she was in a competition down there just a few weeks ago.
0:41
I don't know, have you ever watched Archery? Wasn't on the top of my list, but when she got into it, well, we had to see how this whole thing works.
