yeah how you how you locate these big deer

yeah so like you and i spoke about i mean a lot of people don't really think much about deer hunting until the fall um where me i really start focusing on it around the early summer june time frame so um you know come june um i'm i'm starting to do some scouting um you know looking for different trails um i pretty much know where the bedding areas are at um on my farm and some surrounding farms So, those really haven't changed.

But, you know, I'm scouting, looking for trails, putting out mineral as well as trail cameras throughout the summer.

Every few weeks, of course, freshening up those mineral spots, maybe moving them if they're not real successful, and really just getting inventory, you know, throughout the summer.

you know, as antlers start growing, you know, in, you know, late June, July, that's when you really start to tell if you've got, you know, those giant deer.

It doesn't happen every year, but, you know, some years it works out.

And, you know, and if you do have that giant, that's when you really, really get excited about it.

okay steve let me ask you a question um especially for our listeners let's talk about your setup a little bit uh you know the type of bow i assume you're shooting a compound but you might be a trad shooter i don't know but uh type of broadhead are you shooting a a fixed blade or a mechanical and i'm curious about what site do you use a fixed pin site like a three pin or a five pin or do you use a one pin adjustable uh tell us a little bit about about your setup and also how much you practice what what you think is you know ethical and ethical distances and shots

Now, what about people in industry specifically someone might be in health care or they might be in finance are there different requirements and if so how do you tune your skills in the grc to make yourself valuable to your current employer but not become so narrow that you have no value to anybody else

yeah great question and man and that really it's a good segue from immersion in the books podcasts and blogs into like i'm a mid-career transition right So I'm doing financial audits.

I'm doing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and I'm listening to CISO Tradecraft and watching the daily cyber threat briefing.

And I'm taking how to get your dream cyber job course.

And I'm reading Sandworm and the Fifth Domain and the Cuckoo's Egg, and I'll do the canon of books.

And okay, so something that's really important to understand in this idea that cybersecurity is about protecting and enabling an organization, whether it's SaaS service, a financial institution, a school, a hospital, whatever, is that you need to understand the business.

Okay.

At some point in time, it helps to put things in buckets so we can chunk down that information.
