In the length of your career, what has been the biggest change in tyre tech?

I mean, it's a really interesting one and there's been a lot of innovation that's come and gone and think that this is going to, for instance, forget the radial tyre, radial pneumatic tyre.

I mean, we've had many tyre companies say, well, we've got now airless tyres, you know.

which are like rubber spokes and all this sort of stuff.

And again, as a concept, that's been around 25 years, easily.

But I would say, clearly, the biggest revolution in tyres came, as we all know, from the transition from cross-ply to radial.

Clearly, the performance difference is in a totally different stratosphere between a cross-ply and radial.

There's another question we got, and which sort of follows on from that, is how much difference do OE tyres develop for your car actually make?
