Like, what was that process like? Did you scale it beyond yourself? Did you have a team? Was it a full blown studio agency? Like, where'd you go? Yeah.
0:50
So it was modeled around the boutique design shop that I interned at because after leaving that internship, every other place I went kind of sucked.
0:59
And I was like, that dude knew how to run a business.
1:01
He knew how to build a team.
1:03
He had great clients, not without stress, but, um, and so I wanted to be like Alan Brooks was his name when I grew up.
1:10
And so five doors away from where I'm sitting today in the house around the corner, I launched my business.
1:16
We started in the basement of the house.

10 MINS LATER

10:50
And that's the kind of surprise that nobody wants.
0:57
Could you give everyone the Cliff Notes version of who you are, what you do, little background if it's helpful or relevant in your mind?
1:08
Yeah, thanks.
1:09
Yeah, shout out to Todd for the connection and introduction to my new friend.
1:14
My newfound purpose is helping founders find their optionality in their agency, in their marketing, creative, PR, video, experiential agency.
1:25
And I'm so excited about it because it gives me the ability to help the leaders and founders of these agencies understand that there's more than just being trapped in the day to day.
1:38
And so my entire career has led to this purpose of I launched this current business six years ago where I get to coach founders through their goals and their challenges and kind of get unstuck in what they've been building.
1:53
But it's evolved in the past, I don't know, 18 months or so into helping them really get a clear picture of what options they have with this thing that they've been pouring their lives, their heart and their soul and sacrificing weekends and t-ball games and all these things.
5:22
Yeah.
4:21
What was your motivation behind starting it? And then we'll talk about selling it later on.
4:27
So it was not my first gig right out of school.
4:29
I worked in-house at Panasonic as a designer and I interned at a boutique branding and design agency in Princeton, New Jersey.
4:37
And then I went to work for a number of other agencies.
4:40
And then my motivation for starting it was, man, nobody knows how to run a business.
4:44
I'm going to I'm going to do it better.
4:46
I'm going to figure it out.

13 MINS LATER

17:23
What is your advice when it comes to trying to, because you're talking about delegating roles to different people, right? So when it comes to figuring out these delegation issues, what's your advice about how your size may impact your ability to be able to do or not do some of this delegation? Yeah.
