well there can be a connection but there's a lot of good ways to handle this too and we've been building all these dates now data centers are just like big warehouses you know i wouldn't want one next to my house but i wouldn't want to We're being warehouses across the country.

I mean, it's just goofy.

Local people should have the opportunity to determine whether a data center goes in or not.

And the companies building them, like Google or Microsoft or Amazon, should be open with the local people on what's going on.

Now, the big data center, the local populace should require them to build a power plant to provide their own electricity and then electric rates won't go up.

And more and more of these big data centers are...

However, when 60 Minutes does a piece on this, everyone comes out against it, and mainly the Democrats and some Republicans are going to use this issue to drive turnout because the data centers, which we have thousands of them already, and they have the proper community agreement, then what's the objection?

What does that actually mean in common terms? Because we get there, what's the impact going to be, and how fast do we think it's coming?

Yeah, the world has been striving to get to net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.

And these are the wealthy nations of the world under President Biden, the United States, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, Japan, Australia, and others.

But this is a foolish thing.

I mean, if you look at the way the world works, there's nothing that doesn't produce carbon dioxide.

When I talk, I show a grass hut on the screen sometimes.

And I say any structure you build and you put copper into it and you put ceramic into it and you put wood and steel and concrete into any structure, all of those things are produced with carbon dioxide when they're manufactured and when they're transported.

Yeah, I, I do, and it- it's a bit of an emperor who has no clothes kind of a thing, but we now, well, now we have these political parties that are shifting positions.

Of course, in the US with the Republicans and then, uh, uh, Prime Minister, uh, Carney in, in Canada, but we also have a Nigel Farage heading up, uh, uh, the Reform UK, and, and they have co- they've coined the phrase net stupid zero, and he, uh, recently won a bunch of local elections.

It's very possible that he's, uh, he's going to carry, uh, uh, the majority in the UK or, or at least the leading party at some point.

We have the Alternative for Deutschland in Germany that has, uh, talked about tearing down all the wind turbines in Germany.

We have two parties in Australia, the Nationals and the Liberals, that have come out, uh, against net zero.

It's not really an environmentally friendly system with, with the technology as we have it today, is it?

So Steve, first question to you, what is the impact of Pritzker's pullback on the tax credits?

Yeah, you make some good comments.

We do have a lot of people that are very concerned about data centers and a lot of people opposing data centers across the country.

I think some of that is bad press, incorrect press, but nevertheless there's an awful lot of building going on and I'm not sure I'd want a data center next to my house.

They're kind of like big warehouses actually and I wouldn't want a big warehouse next to my house either.

But Governor Pritzker, actually, the state of Illinois has been doing pretty well if you're in favor of data centers.

Do you find that ironic at all?
