What pleased you most about the performance?

Um, I think it, the, the obvious thing to do is to say about the number of points scored in attack, and that, and that would be the obvious thing.

I think what, um, I, I'm delighted with three new caps.

We've got this young, young group developing.

Um, what really pleased me is the defensive performance.

Playing against a Fiji team that are, um, so dangerous with the ball in hand, so dangerous offloading skills, and to restrict them the way the team did out there, and to keep going right to the very end, I thought that was, um, that was an impressive defensive performance.

Um, so what do you wanna see from England next weekend?

I think we'll see a similar game plan where they, they completely just did not allow Fiji to play.

Was that disappointing?

Yeah.

Clearly you're playing against the best team in the world, and they came out and they, they ...

A couple of moments, couple of contestable kicks they won back gave them those, those scoring opportunities.

I think that clearly, um, there was a couple of carries that they made and managed to break through our, through our tackles, which gave them those scoring opportunities.

Uh, the ...

We- we're very disappointed, but immense credit to South Africa for that.

So, um, can you talk to us about why the second half was, was mainly one-way traffic?

But you can assure the fans that there were some really useful things you can take from that to put into action this summer.

Listen, and, and I absolutely appreciate the, the, the supporters' disappointment with the results.

We, we all wanted better than, than what we produced there.

Now, and I think the part of that comes from the standard that the team has been at for quite a period of time now.

When you start looking at the, through 2025, the try-scoring record that the team has had, the way the team's played.

Then entering the Six Nations in that first game and again building.

It was a s- it was building on that same brand of rugby, the same way we've been trying to play since 2024, as we started transitioning the team in 2024.
