yes because because when we don't see results we just forgive about the reason for which we started so what what what made you start

Stephen WhiteheadGUEST
i wanted a new challenge i've been trying the practice a few times on my work looking back i can give a story that okay I was maybe quite an anxious person or quite shy or getting nervous in group situations but I don't think that at the time that wasn't a conscious motivating factor I just went to try it and thought Okay, I've trained the body, I've done a lot of physical stuff, so why not try training the mind? And then I did, I don't know, like a few sessions at lunchtime in work, set a timer for five minutes and I was just basically breathing in slowly and breathing out slowly.

Stephen WhiteheadGUEST
And then at the end, I would feel quite calm and I was like, okay, that's the first kind of inkling that there was something, some potential in this.

Stephen WhiteheadGUEST
And then I randomly discovered a book which was called The Mind Illuminated by John Yates, also Chula Dasa.

Stephen WhiteheadGUEST
And he had reverse engineered the Buddhist ten-step meditation journey and changed the language so it was more palatable, understandable to Western people.

Stephen WhiteheadGUEST
He's also a neuroscience as well, so he's changed a lot of the Sanskrit Buddhist words into more plain English, such as attention, awareness, we can all understand what those are.
