My sister was kind of like, you know, not really wanted to deal with any of this kind of stuff at the time.

What were you asking people to do? What did you observe that led to the term that you coined, cognitive surrender?

Yeah, so we had participants who, you know, we had undergraduate students and people from the community come into the lab, and we also did it online.

And we asked them to answer a series of seven logic and reasoning questions.

So the task is called the Cognitive Reflections Task or the CRT.

It's like well established in psychology.

And basically what this task allows us to do is to understand the reasoning process and how people come up with their answers.

So all of these logic and reasoning questions have sort of an intuitive answer, an answer that immediately comes to mind.
