The thing about Python, right, is we grew up, my family grew up watching Python and loving Python still to this day.

But you think about what they do, what they skew.

They skew, you know, class.

They skew royalty, entitlement, all that sort of stuff, which actually the film, The Holy Grail, which this musical is based on, It's 51 years old.

It's interesting, isn't it, after, I don't know,

35-odd years of being in the entertainment industry, I've kind of always watched musicals from afar and thought I'd like to do that, but I don't want to do anything too serious.

And so Spamalot came along and every bit in Spamalot that gets supposedly serious is the most ridiculous thing you've ever seen.

So I thought, bang, right up my alley, let's go.

he was yes he was indeed and and look it's um they're big shoes to fill but look as you as you mentioned in your intro it's um they are turbulent times and What I love about this show is it's just so silly and such a departure and such a form of escapism.

What I love about it is I've always been a bit concerned about going into musical theatre because I thought if people want me to be serious, it's not going to go so well.

Um, this is actually great because everything, the moment it gets really serious in this show is that they're the most ridiculous moments of the show.

So bring it

But are there a few little tweaks in the script just to make it that little bit more familiar for Aussies?

There's a couple of little localisations, I suppose, but the thing with the dialogue for a show like this, you don't want to muck around with it.

They've written it so specifically and every word has its place.
