Eskat is a, it's a Arabic term, and, um, loosely translated into English, it refers to, um, taking down, like to, to take down an individual, but to do it through slander, through defamation, through character assassination.

Um, Israel has long relied on, um, sex espionage through honey traps, through secret information, through sexualized blackmail.

Um, and they do this and have done this to, um, subjugate and degrade Palestinians individually and collectively.

And, um, eskat is really a, like a manipulation of social stigmas that, um, attempt to sow discord within Palestinian families, relationships, communities, social movements.

Um, and one of the ways in which they kind of sow this discord, um, is that, um, officers, um, spies, um, engage, you know, create these like honey traps, the sexual blackmail.

Um, they fabricate information.

Uh, what would you say to them?

I started by asking her about the key findings of the report.

The report has a number of findings.

Um, the first, which is, I think we would feel like is a really important one, is that sexualized and gendered violence, uh, is systematic, meaning that the State of Israel, across numerous institution and forces, um, systematically engages, uh, sexualized and gendered violence against Palestinians, uh, not just adults, but children as well.

Um, they're, uh, using a variety of practices and technologies of sexualized violence, um, also, uh, humiliation, uh, sexual humiliation, um, that expresses genocidal intent.

The second finding, um, is that, um, sexualized violence, particularly since, uh, Israel's accelerated genocide in twenty twenty-three, has largely targeted men and boys.

Um, women have also, and women and girls have been targeted, but the preponderance of testimonies and accounts that our report has, particularly since the accelerated genocide, has, um, focused on boys and men.

And then, uh, the third finding is that Israel has really manufactured consent, um, for genocide and for a very long time, not just since, uh, October twenty twenty-three.
