But apart from them doing that, You know, what can we do to support them to know that they're going to get through those feelings?
4:02
Yeah.
4:02
Okay.
4:02
So this is where I put my speech pathologist hat on.
4:06
Because, I mean, it's so interwoven, emotional intelligence and communication.
4:10
I think... there's there's huge feelings on everyone's everyone's side right you said upheaval and there's the chaos and the forgetting and the where who's are we at and why did this happen and and lots of emotions going on um most of the time actually all the time i say we have to work on our own emotional intelligence first before we can help our kids with theirs so so that you know i know damn it like god why you know i just want to help my kids talk about their emotions um So I think, yeah, managing our own emotional state and that might not look like I am perfectly calm and zen all the time because number one, that's a robot and that's not realistic and it's not human of you.
4:52
Um, leaning on other people, leaning on people when we need to, friends, family and things like that.

4:50
And, um, so how-- what does emotional intelligence look like at a child's level at maybe different ages?
4:57
Yep, yep.
4:58
So, so it starts off very, very basic.
5:01
And if we think about, if I just quickly go back to when w- when, you know, we're infants, we have zero emotional intelligence.
5:08
We have zero ability to regulate our emotions.
5:10
Our mom or carer, someone does that for us.
5:13
So if we are hungry, cold, tired, we cry.
