The scheme started in Nottingham back in 2009.

I think it was an individual teaching assistant at a local school, Fernwood School.

latched onto the scheme that Dolly had set up over in America, realised that it was available here and that we could do something about it.

One of our members saw a presentation by this teaching assistant just about what was happening in that school and the impact that these books were having on the 0-5 year olds and how important it was to get that early literacy before they came into the school.

And apparently Lenny, our former member being Lenny, was, well, we can do much better than that.

We can do this across the whole of Nottingham.

It doesn't feel like work, does it? Sophie, is that what you're seeing in your area, the traditional alongside the modern?
