Can you tell us a little bit about your background, how you've come to be interested in issues around refugees, entrepreneurship and gender?

Yes, thank you.

I think it all stemmed from a personal interest and my heritage.

And over time it developed into an academic interest and then found out that actually there was a huge academic gap in knowledge in this area.

So I was born in Syria to a Syrian father and a British mother.

I was raised there till I was just under seven years old.

And I remember it being an incredible place, rich with culture and history, incredible food, incredible terrain, four beautiful seasons a year.

What has it involved and which groups have you been working with particularly?
