Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers

Um, the next one, again, ugh.

So I got Sleepaway Camp and Sleepaway Camp 2, only because, well, Walmart-

[laughs]

... has these sales on where it's like, oh, they got a Scream Factory release of Sleepaway Camp 2 under 30 bucks.

It's like, well, I'm gonna pick it up.

But then I was like, okay, well, I gotta go pick up...

If I'm gonna watch Sleepaway Camp 2, I gotta at least watch Sleepaway Camp 1, so I had to go pick that one up-

Yeah

So I had to add the third to the ones I did, like Sleepaway Camp 3.

I did Sleepaway Camp 2.

And I did Return to Living Dead.

So now I'm at Return to Living Dead 2.

Cause the, the first one might be technically a better story and a, a, I guess technically better movie.

But I think in terms of a fun movie to watch, Sleepaway Camp 2 is just such a fun slasher.

Pamela Springsteen in this, Bruce Springsteen's sister.

Our lead, Angela, who's recently released from Mental Institution after years and is coming back and has got a job as a counselor at the Sleepaway Camp where the original movie happened.

So we get just like this... weird like her her funny performance is just so over the top where she's like you know trying to have this perfect camp experience because um that's kind of what she's in for and anybody that like breaks those rules has to die and it's just she's so like preppy peppy and happy throughout the whole thing pamela springsteen is as angela and it's just it's just a super fucking fun movie that um i can't recommend enough i love this one so sleepaway camp 2 it's got a great 4k release also And I'm sure it's available on streaming somewhere.

I have not checked because I own a copy, so I never looked at streaming for it.

You know, I always sort of lament that we didn't get four or five of these.

No, no, it's

where? Who? Yeah, it's whatever.

Next up we have TC, who also, like, mildly confusing because there was a TC in Sleepaway Camp 2.

Oh, totally forgot.

Yeah, we have another TC.

Like, I want to have a good, silly, stupid time.

And,

like, we had a good enough time watching Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 for better or for worse.

Yeah.

And, and is, is shushed And told to shut up as one of the counselors proceeds to tell the story of Little Death.

And this is, like, basically right out of, uh, uh, Sleepaway Camp II.

Sleepaway Camp II.

Yeah.

Yeah.

june 12th

anyway so that was february and then we every time we do an episode we're like oh let's pick up where we left off last year We did Sleepaway Camp in August, and we were going to do Sleepaway Camp 2.

That was going to be the next episode.

So now that it's March, let's do that one.

Yeah.

But before that, I watched Sleepaway Camp 2, Unhappy Campers.

And I really wanted to see that after teenage sex and death at Camp Miasma.

Just rounding out my summer camp slasher knowledge and especially for going back and watching that again.

Like they tried to get everybody in there.

Have you seen Sleepaway Camp 2? Because I imagine – because people – like one really is like the sort of the cornerstone of the franchise even though it's not necessarily a great movie.

Yes, and I think it went over everyone's head last week because we were going through the camp stuff pretty quickly.

But I was going to put that on my list for this week, but I already mentioned that last week.

I said, I actually don't think Sleepaway Camp, other than the twist ending, is as great as everyone thinks.

I think Sleepaway Camp 2 is a much more fun movie.

I don't know if it's a better film.

Let's be fair.

It may not seem like a big deal to you, but middle schoolers usually never want anything to do with elementary schoolers.

I got on their radar when, word spread, I had a video copy of Sleepaway Camp 2 and the king of gross-out party movies, Faces of Death.

In our small town, getting a copy of the most notorious horror movie of all time, banned in 46 countries, was nearly impossible.

But, thanks to my summer trips to New England, I managed to score a copy.

Yeah.

And you can see that with Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3.

2, 3 is rushed.

2 is the crown jewel.
