For you, what was the first... facts of the crime that really just stunned you or sat with you?

I mean, I mean, you know, years ago when it happened, I remember being pretty riveted by it.

It's, it's, you know, and as I got more familiar with it and started, you know, preparing for it, I, it just was so audacious.

I couldn't, couldn't believe it and couldn't fathom so much of what was going on.

Yeah.

That would lead somebody to do such a thing.

Was there a lot of conversation on set about how to depict the violence responsibly, especially knowing that Elizabeth was only 14 when this happened? That's complicated.

Yeah, I mean, I mean, you know, years ago when it happened, I remember being pretty riveted by it.

It's it's, you know, and as I got more familiar with it and started, you know, preparing for it, it just was so audacious.

I couldn't couldn't believe it and couldn't fathom so much of what was going on.

So it was something, a puzzle that I needed to unlock, obviously, to play him.

But it took about two weeks for me to agree to do the movie, because I couldn't find why I should play such a heinous human being.

And she came down to set.

Um, we sorta went through the blocking of a scene, and the director asked her like, "Is this accurate to what was going on?" And she was like, she came onto the area that we were shooting, and she was like, and there was a five-gallon bucket that she, you know, that she used to sit on, that he'd make her sit on.

And she's like, "Well, actually, I was over here." And she moves the bucket and sits down, and I started bawling like most of us did-

(laughs) What?

And so we get on the floor, you know, terrified.

And the, the fight, like goes past our row and we're like, "Let's go, let's go, let's go." And we, like run out of the theater, we get to the elevator to go up to the parking lot, you know, pushing the bu...

Finally, the elevator comes, the door's opening, and a dude's pulling his revolver out as he gets out of the elevator going to the fight.
