What did that report say and what did it make you think about?
10:35
Yeah, thanks so much for for bringing that up.

For a long time, I've been trying to think of simple cost effective interventions that we can provide to improve the health of women and the health of women during pregnancy to improve upon pregnancy outcomes.
10:58
And several years ago now, people had linked the microbiome of the placenta with the microbes that live in our mouth.
11:11
And this was really surprising because anatomically the placenta would be much more closer to microbes that live in the intestine or live in the urinary tract.
11:26
But when they sequenced those microbes, they found that they had much, much more similarity with the microbes that generally live in people's mouths, which suggests that the microbes that come from the mouth may become systemic in women during pregnancy and may seed the placenta or other reproductive tissues.
11:53
That's why giving an agent like mouthwash or sterilizing the mouth could potentially have really exciting and profound impacts on improving pregnancy outcomes.

It was the gift of receiving the mouthwash that maybe led to these outcomes that women were felt they were taken care of they got a gift they felt maybe even loved like someone cared about them um and that it was this gift giving act that then caused potentially you could say that the association was um due to that gift giving is that just totally crazy and we're sure that it was the bacteria killing ingredient in the mouthwash that should be thanked for these outcomes or is there any truth to maybe this gift theory
