Simon, maybe you can tell us a bit about, yeah, what was your starting point?
2:15
My starting point was 1989, New York City, smallest kid in my kindergarten class, a bit of an outcast, couldn't play sports, but I had one friend, a fellow social outcast named Danny Selsom.
2:30
He was normal sized, but he stood out for his freakish intelligence.
2:35
You could picture the two of us on the edge of the playground, me reading Mad Magazine and Danny playing chess against himself in the mirror.
2:42
He started warning me about artificial intelligence in 2008.
2:48
My friends and I were so shocked by his predictions that we actually discussed potentially doing an intervention to get him medicated or perhaps institutionalized.
2:57
We thought he'd lost his mind.

Simon, do you want to say a bit about this? I mean, I know your background is in comedy, so I assume this was for you a natural approach.
2:47
Why did you wanna take on ambition?
2:50
Um, it's just something I've always been gravitated to, characters who are, who are very ambitious but, uh, uh, don't quite, uh, pull it off.
2:57
Uh, so you'll find a lot of, uh, uh, characters in, in this show that, um, uh, for whatever reason, never quite got the esteem or, or, or respect that they, they hoped for.
3:06
Uh, one characteristic story is from the perspective of Paul Revere's horse, uh, Oathie, who, uh, uh, is the person who, uh, Paul Revere rode, uh, during his midnight ride.
3:17
But, but sadly, his, his contributions have been lost to time, and he's extremely bitter about it.

How did Laurence get involved, Simon?
15:36
So I was a fan of Laurence, but, uh, I'd only met them a couple of times.
15:39
And, and Alex, uh, uh, suggested that, that, um, maybe some of their tracks could thematically link to the stories, and, and boy, was he right.
