So Simon, as lead author, would you please give the listeners a brief summary of your paper and its major findings?
1:43
Thank you, Mark.
1:44
Our study evaluated the long-term clinical and radiographic outcome of the isolated first MTP joint arthrodesis with a particular focus on degeneration and adjacent joints.
1:56
We followed 77 patients for an average of almost nine years.
2:01
The most important finding was that first MTP arthrodesis remains a reliable procedure with excellent long-term patient satisfaction with good clinical outcome scores, a low revision rate, and a low incidence of metatarsalgia.
2:16
Radiographically, we observed a progression of osteoarthritis in adjacent joints, particularly in the interphalangeal joint, but also the proximal joints of the medial column.
2:27
However, these radiographic changes did not correlate with the patient's satisfaction, function or pain.

Would you please briefly describe the FAOS and the FFI? Also, could you provide some insight why the FFI trended negatively when the AOFAS and FAOS scores improved in your study?
