Simon GallacherGUEST
... we had someone recently who ran around on the due date for her baby, and she'd said that, uh, "If I haven't given birth by the time this parkrun comes into view, I'm going to run on parkrun day," and she did.

Simon GallacherGUEST
Uh, and then I think gave birth about a couple of days later, so obviously that helped.

Simon GallacherGUEST
The, the thing I always find, though, is that people, especially when you're a regular, people get to know you.

Simon GallacherGUEST
Uh, there's a familiarity, and there's a alm- there's a trust level as well, and I've had so many stories shared to me by runners, whether they're good things that have happened to them, they just wanted to tell me about something, so they'll stop and say, "Ah, just need to let you know." Um, or they'll stop and ask about the kilt, or they'll stop and have a chat about Scottish rugby, and all the way through to people talking about some very serious and difficult things that they've encountered, uh, in their lives.

So how did that come about, and what sort of role do you play as a volunteer with the running club?
