Simon Draper from Thame Farmers Mart Auctioneers told me about the decision.

We, we'd planned on Monday that we would cancel the, the Wednesday market, the sheep market, because of the weather, and on a Wednesday we tend to have sheep stop in overnight, uh, or sort of later at night, and we felt we couldn't cope with those, and it wouldn't be fair on them.

And we were planning to go on Friday as normal because it sort of said on Monday that it was gonna be 27 degrees, and as the week's gone on it's got hotter and hotter.

And a conversation with our vet suggested that we ought not to hold a market, and we sort of tried to mitigate the heat as much as we could and, but we felt at the end of the day it was probably the right thing to do from a, a welfare point of view, mainly of the animals, but also people, um, that we'd be better to scratch it this week.

We're, we're two years away from an all-singing, all-dancing new market, uh, which will be covered.

So I just said, "As a favor to me, would you consider it?" And overnight she did, and she said, "Come round tomorrow, and, um, we can discuss it." And I decided to film my experience and, in, in that case, the journey, my first journey there.

Because every time you're with Miriam, she's one of those characters that, um, is entertaining.

And I just thought, "Well, I'll film my experience, and I may use some clips in social media to promote the podcast series, so why don't I just start doing it?" Because it felt wrong not to.
S

And that was, um, uh, the first, almost the first 10 minutes of the, of the doc in the end.

Um, Gwyn Jones, the editor, uh, who none of this would've happened without him, just said, "Just keep going." And so I just kept filming and turning up, and eventually we tried to do some podcasts.
