Well, what do you believe is the cause of the flood? I understand we're talking about a phenomenon called an ice avalanche.

Yeah, that's right.

So we think from an analysis of satellite imagery, sort of taken yesterday compared to today, that there's a big chunk of a glacier terminus, so the lowermost part of the glacier that is missing between yesterday and today.

And we think that that chunk of ice has fallen about 1,300 meters.

So that's the best part of a mile down into the valley below.

That ice has then got pulverized as it's just the force of that drop as it meets the valley bottom.

The ice has gotten pulverized into smaller blocks of ice and slush and water.

Because I was going to ask, could that help predict similar events in the future?

Yeah.

I think the only issue was...

I, and I did say this to, to my wife.

I was like, "I love Madeira, but it just...

I'd feel a bit isolated there." Just feel a little bit disconnected from the world really, which is one of the beauties of it, right? You can be there and, you know, don't know what's going on elsewhere.

But so I, I definitely wanted to still be connected to the UK.

Obviously Porto has the airport, so that's, you know, great from that point of view.

Yeah.

And during that year of the Nuffield program, you know, where did you go? What sort of things, um, caught your eye?

I mean, there's two components to it really.

There's the travel that you do as a group, you know, which is the global, you know, eye-opening one where you get to see all kinds of fascinating things and, you know, one day you're somewhere like, uh, Dubai looking at a fish farm in the middle of a desert.

You know, and the next day you're on a dairy farm in France, and then, you know, a potato field in Alabama.

And so it's just all kinds of really different things, different ways of, you know, what people are doing all around agriculture.

But really does open your eyes up to the breadth of what our industry is, you know, when, when you think about it.

And it does take you away from your own little, little world, and, yeah, it gives you that opportunity to look much wider.

Um, there's probably a lot of people out there who maybe people have, uh, you know, tapped them on the shoulder and thought maybe give this a thought, and you know, most people will think probably, "Oh, I'm not ready." What would you say to them?

Right.

I think one thing that people probably aren't aware of, which I find particularly exciting, is the, the school that we have here, the campus, where we have young marketers, young creatives coming together to learn the craft of our discipline.

And hopefully, you know, we're giving them a space to be the future leaders of tomorrow.

We've got some jurors and jury presidents this year, for example, who started their path as a Young Lion or a Young Lion competitor.

So that's a big part of what we do that perhaps doesn't get as much attention or, or the headlines.

And, uh, and speaking of the work and, like, what's, what's won so far this week, anything, anything stand out to you? Any, um, surprises might not be the right word, but, like, any things that have stuck out in terms of who has been winning or what kind of work has been winning this week?

Yeah.

I think, um, we've, we're seeing a lot of humor in the work, which I think is very positive.

The interesting part is: where is it gonna be? Are we gonna be able to bring, uh, European nights back to the racecourse? Now, what do you know about that, Simon? What's the sort of s-

So what I know about that, um, from speaking to people within, uh, the women's setup and from what I know about what happened last year, is every team in the four who were drawn together, the four teams are put together, uh, tomorrow, uh, after the draw.

So they all come back together.

If they want to stay, they're told they don't have to stay over.

I know that Wrexham have said that they want to stay over for the second part of the draw, though, because they are keen on hosting the, the mini tournament.

Um, if Wrexham are the only team that want to host it, it will be held in Wrexham.

If there's two teams, then UEFA will decide, and it could even come down to drawing lots.
