Martyn WilliamsHOST
But how are these tunnel-like structures discovered in the first place? Simon Boddy's the school's head gardener who'd been overseeing repairs.

Simon BoddyGUEST
At the start, we had the Ha Ha wall that's run along the ditch side here that was leaning out quite a lot that was going to fall down.

Simon BoddyGUEST
So we took a process of taking it down and the process of doing that, we saw the top of the archways on the palace wall there.

Simon BoddyGUEST
It was like, wow, we have found the palace because it was like, we didn't think it was this far forward.

Simon BoddyGUEST
with all the time team found we thought it was further back but we had a few inklings on the top of the grass we saw a few bricks but we didn't know what it was until we dug down as you know when you don't know until you find and reveal what we found and it was really exciting to find actually this is the palace.
