Jackie and I filmed a pilot for MTV in 90, seven and it was like we were in a girls reform school and i was kind of the good girl and she was the bad girl and julie halston i'm just this actress who worked a lot with charles bush was the like warden or whatever and then josh directed it and in my mind i was like we're gonna have a fucking tv show on mtv and they were just like Wait, no, it was just too early.

They were terrified.

And girl, I've had meetings with like record companies at one time in New York.

And I literally had someone say, well, you know, there's RuPaul, like we've got one.

There's room for one.

So it's very different now.
