What is it like to be back in this role of Hondo after so much uncertainty?

Well, the uncertainty, I have to first say, I always say on my social media, to my homies, to my fans, to my baby girls, to all the fans around the world, that Canada has loved me since Young and the Restless, Criminal Minds, and now SWAT.

There is no Shemar Moore, there is no Young and the Restless, Criminal Minds, Serge, SWAT, and now SWAT Exiles without the fans.

I made some noise on social media when they tried to cancel us.

The fans had my back.

Sony and CBS listened.

Then CBS decided it was time to go a different direction.

What is it like stepping back into that role now?

the job still matters I want you back at SWAT.

When they canceled season six, I was like, no, no, no. We're just getting hot.

Let's go.

They listened.

The fans helped me out.

Made a lot of noise.

A testament to the homies, the fans, and the baby girls.

The show takes a grittier turn and finds a disgraced Hondo schooling a crew of rejected Gen Z recruits, all while trying to unmask a mole in their midst.

Hondo's been a lot of fun.

I mean, you know, I'm a grown-ass man getting paid to chase bad guys and be a superhero.

I just don't have to wear the cape and the tights.

I was like, you know, everybody wants to grow up to be a superhero, but I'm okay without wearing the tights and the cape.

But, you know, Hondo, like when you're a kid, you play cowboys and Indians, you know.

you know, you're just superheroes.

Yeah.

I've been doing this.

I've been blessed.

And thank you to the homies, the fans, and the baby girls, the fans.

But 32 years going on 33 years, I said, look, y'all got to kill me if you want me to get out of here.

And then people have said, but they tried.

I said, yeah, but I know how to duck.

I know how to duck.

you're showing Gen Z how it's done in a mentoring role.

So what do you still love most about him and, you know, the world of SWAT that made you want to continue his story with SWAT Exiles?

Well, I mean, I'm so proud of my entire career and thank you for the nice words.

You know, I treat my career like school, you know, young and restless is where I began.

And that was, I call that high school.

And, you know, I did a bunch of things in between, but my main stage, young and restless led to criminal minds, criminal minds led to SWAT.

And without them, we call that the mothership and without SWAT, there'd be no SWAT exiles.

You know, when your kid playing Cowboys and Indians, you know, Bank robbers, whatever.

And you just keep creating stuff for us.
