Uh, but, uh, people think that, that you're, you're special if you're, if you work with disabled people or blind people.

Yes, I think that's true.

Um, I have had it said to people that are with me as well.

In fact, one very funny time, the, the Torch Trust Choir was out, and we were at St. Ives, I think it was in Devon, and Carol Noakes, uh, was organizing it, and she was getting everyone to come into the, the bus and the cars, uh, to go on to another venue for the choir to sing.

And somebody came up and said, "A labor of love, my dear.

A labor of love."

They're just saying that they're okay.

Yeah.

I know you grew up, though, on the coast in, in County Sligo, so where did the inspiration come from for this story initially?

Yeah, I feel like a bit of a fraud in some ways because I wasn't one of those kids who was out footing the turf every weekend.

Uh, I was out and messing around in boats every weekend.

Um, I think I started to think about bogs, uh, during my Leaving Cert, if you can believe that.

Uh, for my art project, the theme was the Bog of Allen, and I did this, this sculpture of a, of a great Irish elk, uh, coming out of the bog and a, a skeleton, uh, kind of rotting away.

Um, it sounds great, but the execution was not good because I was 17 years old and not very good at sculpture.

Um, but it's kind...

Was he an influence on the young Sheila?
