Superintendent Murphy, could you just walk us through how that specific number was decided on as the amount the district needs to continue to operate?
66:25
I appreciate that question.
66:26
I mean, this took quite a bit of time to get to and a lot of work on behalf of the board and administration, quite frankly, with the board tasking administration to do research, to look at other districts, to look at what this would mean in a variety of ways.
66:46
And we looked at different levels of millage and whether it was seven mills, seven and a half, eight mills.
66:54
And then we had over several months, board members and the public asking questions about how much this would cost a property owner.
67:06
What can we afford to ask people to pay? And we thought essentially this was this amount was the lesser of what we could afford.
67:17
be able to get over with our voters.
69:30
So Superintendent Murphy, what would you say to a homeowner, for example, a concerned homeowner who may value public schools, but they're unsure if they can actually afford an increase to their property taxes? Yeah.
15:36
Can you kind of talk us through that first maybe 90 days on the job?
15:41
Yeah, it went really, really fast.
15:43
So first of all, I would say my immediate thought was gratitude for the support of the school board to allow me to have this opportunity.
15:53
I've been with Cincinnati Public Schools a very long time in a variety of roles.
15:57
I feel like I know the district well.
15:59
I'm a lifelong Cincinnati resident and feel like I know the city well.
16:04
Fairly well.
19:07
all.
