Your recruiters just don't get it wrong.
1:42
Yeah, g'day, Richo.
1:43
No, I couldn't put it better myself, mate.
1:47
We don't specifically sit around and talk about it, but if you see him in the hallway or you go in the office for a chat, you certainly marvel at what they're doing.
1:55
You kind of try to pick up on things and what they're actually looking at in plays as well.
1:59
But, yeah, obviously these guys come in, like obviously our recruiters see something in them, but they pick them for a specific purpose and a role within the team.
2:08
So it's never just, you know, you're not plucking guys out of nowhere, even though that seems like what we do.

Is it something that you've got to have to, probably will look at it in review, but I'm just wondering are better sides and sides above them as such? It might become an issue if you were going down that track.
PaulHOST
0:32
What did you make of it all?
0:33
Yeah.
0:33
Oh, they made us work for it, didn't they? Um, yeah, I think we, uh, had control of the game first half, and then probably fell asleep at the wheel a little bit.
0:39
So, uh, to them, to their credit, like, they, they turned it in the last couple of minutes of the second quarter, kicked a couple of goals and took that momentum.
0:45
And we spoke about it at halftime, that we need to, you know, they're gonna come out with a bit more energy and, um, you know, that was on us really.
0:51
So, um, yeah, disappointing we didn't get a full four-quarter performance, 'cause we've only got, what, eight left before finals.
0:56
So we, we're trying to make, uh, every quarter matter most and, uh, yeah, we'll take, definitely take the win.
PaulHOST
3:03
[laughs]
TimHOST
4:36
... love a bit of retro round.
4:38
Absolutely, Tim.
4:39
Yeah, no, we, um, yeah, were lucky enough to jump in the guernseys a couple of weeks ago and, um, get a quick look at them.
4:44
But yeah, they look unreal.
4:45
They've got the little collar on them, so it's obviously a throwback to the '90s th- this year.
4:49
So, um, yeah, we ran.
4:51
We did a fa- bit of stuff.
DavoHOST
5:37
... social media, like, and mobile phones, who do you think would struggle the most?
speaker_2UNKNOWN
2:02
And then you really found your groove quarters two and three, played the game in your forward half, got the forward half game going that you, that you've been so good at this year.
2:09
Yeah, spot on.
2:10
I think, um, yeah, knowing King is their coach, their, their games were pretty similar, so it probably would've been a good spectacle to watch.
2:15
But, um, yeah, it was, at first quarter, we, we were off the beat a bit.
2:17
But, um, yeah.
2:18
And then we got to, got to work at quarter time, as Scotty said, and get that forward half game.
2:22
So we're probably the best in the comp...
speaker_2UNKNOWN
3:02
Yeah.
5:27
I thought I'd just give him a little bit of a pump-up because he's so important to how we play.
5:31
Yeah, 100%.
5:32
My shout-out would be Oliver Uchwa.
5:34
Love the way he goes about it.
5:36
Obviously, another boy from our draft class.
5:38
And I felt like all pre-season of anybody, to me, he looked like he was the one that was going to take the big step.
5:45
And, yeah, just seeing the way he went about on Thursday night, I thought in that last quarter, he had some really important touches and looked like he was...

10 MINS LATER

15:23
So first question, uh, who do you most enjoy playing against not necessarily from like a team's perspective but more a player like for me I love playing against the boys that I played AFL Academy with like they're probably my favourite matchups like I know recently I played against Caden Cleary he plays for the Swans and I was having a laugh with him on the I was standing on the mark of one of his goals and I was taking the mickey out of him a little bit which was all in good banter but I feel like guys like that that you play under 18s with and stuff are probably my favourite type of people who I get to play against yeah
6:38
How did it ever happen that you didn't play till then?
6:42
Oh, yeah, I think you're flattering me there, JB, but I appreciate that.
6:45
No, not everyone's ready at 18, 19, 20, are they? And to be fair, I went back and did my time, played a bit of VFL, and at that time I was playing at Richmond.
6:55
I still wasn't up to it.
6:56
So I think a lot of it is timing and when you figure out in life what you really want.
7:01
You don't want to be on the tools or working 9 to 5 every day.
7:04
You probably knuckle down a bit, so...
10:26
Why is that?
10:49
The whiteout game, of course, we're going to discuss, but the jumper, that looks awesome.
10:54
Nah, JB, it's probably my favourite one other than the Indigenous Guernseys, the ones that Lors designed.
10:58
But, yeah, it's incredible, isn't it? It's going to look pretty cool this week, I reckon, when we run down to them and the crowd's all in white with their rally towers from ACOSA.
11:08
They've sorted us out.
11:08
So we're throwing around like this.
11:10
It'll be pretty cool.
11:43
I do like this, and our good sponsors are COSA, which are a bedding and furniture mob.
11:50
Well, mate, yeah, I think it's Friday night actually, so I hope you're there Friday night on Saturday night.
7:18
How did it ever happen that you didn't play till then?
7:22
Oh, yeah, I think you're flattering me there, JB, but I appreciate that.
7:25
No, not everyone's ready at 18, 19, 20, are they? And to be fair, I went back and did my time, played a bit of VFL, and at that time I was playing at Richmond.
7:35
I still wasn't up to it.
7:35
So I think a lot of it is timing and when you figure out in life what you really want.
7:41
You don't want to be on the tools or working 9 to 5 every day.
7:44
You probably knuckle down a bit.
10:54
Why is that?
11:02
Yeah.
11:02
So, ended up on the wrong side of that.
11:03
But no, to be fair, like, they just beat us in, in the contest probably the past couple of weeks we've been pretty poor.
11:08
So, um, yeah, I think that's, that's on us.
11:11
Like, obviously Adelaide's a great opposition as well.
11:13
They're, they're 7 and 5 now, so...
11:15
And, what, Carlton's won the last four on the trot.

8 MINS LATER

19:43
Mm.
