Mm
9:41
... or there's a perfect answer or a perfect score, and that we're looking for perfect candidates, and that's just not true.
9:50
We're really trying to understand, you know, how will someone show up? How will they contribute? What are they looking for in terms of their growth? You know, what are they hoping to learn throughout this, uh, transformational experience and journey? Um, will they contribute to others in the, along the lines, along the way? And, and ultimately, how are we able to craft a community that reinforces our values around leadership, leadership development, and really makes sure that everyone in that community is able to thrive, you know, and pursue, and be able to achieve the things that they aspire to achieve? So there is no perfection.
10:30
I like to say that, you know, business school is about becoming.

16 MINS LATER

26:44
Mm-hmm.
26:45
So they've got to really, you know, manage budgets.
26:48
They've got to, you know, motivate their classmates to go and reach out to other alumni, to set up a schedule, to, um, you know, develop the marketing plans, right? To really organize and put that conference on so that it's, you know, done really well.
27:04
You know, we have, you know, the MBA Student Go- Government Association, they have a whole cabinet of VPs, and so our students are really able to, um, practice those, uh, that leadership in real ways.
13:46
So given that, you know, what are the, what are the things that differentiate top MBA programs today? You know, not just Duke, but just kind of in general.
13:56
I mean, that, that's what I was getting to before.
13:57
I think programs stand out, you know, because of perhaps the type of alumni networks they have, or the kinds of relationships, employee relationships they have.
14:07
So depending on, like I said, we are very strong in healthcare and climate and the environment.
14:13
We have centers which are organizations that combine faculty and research, student engagement, and industry knowledge to help inform, provide thought leadership, but also help to inform students' learning and get them in, you know, in doing things from an experiential perspective.
14:32
There might be a differentiation in the types of experiential learning opportunities there might be at a particular school.
14:37
For instance, at Fuqua, we have what we call the Client Consulting Practicums, FCCP, and that really gives individuals the opportunity to work in teams and do real live consulting projects while they're in the program for credit, working with real organizations to solve real problems.
16:40
But, you know, you tell me.
