Catalyst Sports is a nonprofit and we provide adventure opportunities for people with physical disabilities.

Our mountain bike program is rooted here in Western North Carolina.

And during a listing session about expanding access in our region, Doreen from King Creek and I got into a conversation about the cost of adaptive bikes.

And your average adaptive bike comes in between $16,000 and $20,000.

So it's a huge barrier of entry for most people.

And I said, well, there's this really amazing open source engineering platform where you can build an adaptive bike for half that price.
