And this is a, a Pakistani Muslim family based in the UK?

Yes.

Um, and, and this is something, um, that happens across cultures, um, and, and there are lots of drivers for it.

But, um, within my own family, um, that is our background.

And, um, there was also, uh, a really prevalent environment of abuse, physical, uh, honor-based abuse.

Um, and, uh, as a result of that, being the youngest in a large family was my saving grace because the elder siblings could start to see, uh, that I was increasingly in a, in a high-risk situation, um, as I approached puberty and was starting to, um, you know, have my own mind about the direction I wanted to take in life.

Um, and for various reasons, uh, the, the risk escalated so much that they then took the decision to, uh, contact agencies to get me out of there, social work, police, uh, solicitors, et cetera.

Your relationships before this moment with your parents, your siblings, before you, you, you came apart, as it were, w- what can you say of that?
