What's the moment that you realized that your work was bigger than leadership skills? And it was really about helping people come alive.
1:57
That's a great question.
2:01
So...
2:03
I'll have to take you back way back in time to 2010.
2:09
I was going through my own healing journey and I had gotten out of an abusive relationship, started counseling, started reading books, podcasts, all the things, peeling away the layers of the onion that we, we all are that I am and really started to look at my own, um, input into the relationship.
2:31
And when I noticed that I was holding myself back, I was noticing that I wasn't really saying what I meant to say.
2:41
I was not really expressing myself in a way that was heard or understood or even just off my chest.

I just need to work harder.
8:50
So when you were finished with high school, what was the path that you took for like your livelihood?
8:59
Yeah, so I was, when I decided to quit drinking, I would be, was a second, well, when I was, I shouldn't say when I decided to quit drinking, when I was 16, I was now a junior, right? And so when I got that DUI, it was really the wake up call of, okay, so here I am in my junior year and I really need to figure out what am I gonna do for the rest of my life? And I really began to see that I had been super depressed most of my life.
9:24
And that's why I was drinking is to stop that, which most people don't talk about.
9:29
They don't talk about why we drink.
9:30
They talk about the fact that we do drink.
9:32
And so I was like, OK, so I can and there's no way I could even talk to anybody about being depressed.
9:39
But my dad had actually left right after a few months after that DUI, left my mom, left me and he told me and I had to tell my mom and my mom fell apart.

How did that come about? And tell us what it is and what it involves.
