Burnham's PMQs his debut in the arena

I thought it was okay I mean part of it was I got the impression he was over briefed a bit certainly to begin with and sort of relying on notes and reading out in that sort of way bear in mind PMQs is of limited importance in the grand scheme of things the undisputed master of PMQs in my lifetime was William Hake he was fantastic at them and went on to crash and burn in the general election.

No one cares.

All you need to do basically at PMQs is just survive and get by on it.

And I think he did fine.

One thing I noticed is that there is an old debating trick you do if you are in a hustings.

For any politician anywhere in the world will recognize this.

Seth, what do you think went under the radar this week?

They do tend to be a little older.

Yes, but this is ridiculous.

And if I look at the other alternatives, I think one of the articles floated the Unionist Club because I think they found an old almanac from the late 1880s and found there was a unionist club.

And I thought they were actually onto something and pointing out it was a conservative political club for reasons which I might come to.

But the unionist club doesn't work because it was only open for five years.

And in fact, by the time of the events of the Bruce Parsons plans, it no longer exists.

So that got me looking at a couple of clubs which do broadly fit the picture.

I think that's the one where Holmes shouts in the middle of the club and takes advantage of that echo.

Do you think that is maybe a, a bigger sounding announcement than some people have given it credit for?

I don't know.

I mean, a, a cynic might say that not only is the cupboard quite bare, but he's looked at what he did in Manchester and then just said let's do the same in the whole of the rest of the UK.

And, you know, some of that may work.

There will be problems with scalability.

So bus fares are actually a, a pretty poor example of this.

You know, they may be £1.50 in one area, £2.50 in another area in an ideal world because you have different purchasing power in different bits of the UK.

There were multiple concerns about multiple contacts with Russian oligarchs, with tech contacts in the US, and also with an unnamed British individual, reportedly, which is all very intriguing.
