Seth StreeterGUEST
Well, actually, speaking of being born, I was born in an army hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

Seth StreeterGUEST
And my parents kind of deviated from their family history because all sets of my grandparents, great grandparents, et cetera, were all farmers from South Dakota.

Seth StreeterGUEST
So I came from this farming work ethic mantra coupled with a little infused military discipline.

and when you think about younger planners that are in the weeds on the technical side of financial planning they're studying for their cfp they're 65 they're getting educated They're not getting too much education on how do I guide clients through the dimensions other than financial wealth? How do you recommend developing the skill set of being able to help construct the cathedral or help guide them through how do I become wealthy in these other areas that I haven't been able to focus on?

Seth StreeterGUEST
I think that it starts with that personal identification of what is your role.

Seth StreeterGUEST
So if step one is, okay, what is my role? Do I want to serve the clients have their best ideal lives? Or do I want to simply confirm that they're not going to run out of money? Is my job to make sure they don't run out of money and to optimize their portfolio and optimize their tax strategy? If so, that's fine.

Seth StreeterGUEST
My belief is that with AI, it's going to be much less and less needed as the years go forward.

Seth StreeterGUEST
You know, Ali's heard me talk about Brian Portnoy has this great framing, which is there's two roles we have as an advisor, the mechanic and the guide.

Seth StreeterGUEST
The mechanic are all the technical skills that we need to learn how to use Holista Plan and Money Guide Pro and how to build and construct a portfolio and do tax planning.
Mike ZarrelliHOST
Yeah, and in a world where there's so much noise, everybody's focused about what's going on in their own worlds, it is so special for your advisor to sit down and listen, to let the empty space be there, and for you to just fill it with your needs, your wants, your desires.
