Like, how do you view the emotions of this game from that trap game conversation?
28:42
That's huge.
28:43
I mean, you t- think about the emotions.
28:45
Think about, uh, LSU and Ole Miss, right? And, and what happened.
28:49
LSU had this big game a- against, uh, or Ole Miss had this big game against, uh, LSU, then they have to go on the road and they have to play Florida, and it's kinda one of those kinda situations here where the emotions that get caught up the week before, and now you gotta bounce back, and it c- almost can be, quote-unquote, one of those trap games.
29:07
And obviously with Iowa State, if we can control what we need to control offensively coming on the road, and even with the missing pieces that you mentioned for BYU, uh, you gotta take advantage of that.
29:18
Uh, because it's a situation for me as a quarterback and I'm coming in and they're missing, and I know they're banged up a little bit, and, uh, it's one of those games where this can either change our trajectory and where we're gonna go offensively and as a team-

Utah as well.
44:55
They prefer grass over the turf?
44:58
Absolutely.
45:00
Here's why.
45:00
I think it's just for owners and everything else, right? If you go back And think about FIFA.
45:08
FIFA came in.
45:09
They had a planned surface for all the teams that were in the tournament.
45:13
And they all had to be the exact same surface.
47:48
What are your early thoughts on the new era here with Jimmy Rogers and how this team has looked the first couple games here for Iowa State?
4:37
Can you give us a, give you that real quick?
4:40
Well, I mean, it was very different than most.
4:44
You know, coming out of high school in 1998, I wasn't a qualifier.
4:49
So I didn't know I wasn't a qualifier until my senior year.
4:53
So going into my senior year and getting recruited, know the recruiters started coming around and saying hey well you're short xyz classes in order for us to give you this scholarship you have to meet our criteria and that's the ncaa thing so you know you had i had to get a seer better in geometry i had to have three or four years of transferable english i had to have all these things but at the time even coming out of high school i was just an athlete i was a kid who played the game of football in the parking lot with the shark pleats on, running around, just emulating and just trying to be different guys.
5:32
And so I really didn't know what I was doing.
5:35
I was just an athlete.

want to
13:46
Yeah.
13:46
So you talk about that and you're like, well, okay, they give Sorsby $2 million or whatever.
13:52
What is the drive to ultimately want to be able to make it to the National Football League? If I'm making more money than I ever can think of, I'm making probably more money than most of the coaches on our football staff.
14:04
And heck, if I don't make it to the pros, at least I'm leaving the college game with, you know, two, three, four or five million dollars in the bank.
14:12
And so I think that's the big difference.
14:15
The mindset of the guys that play when I play, our ultimate goal was to make it at the next level.
14:20
So what do we have to do? We had to understand how to be a pro.

Like, how does someone stay in the NFL that long? Like, what do fans not know about how hard that is?
