You look very composed and relaxed tonight.
6:08
Yeah, that was the whole thing going into this fight was to go in and put in a good performance and show everyone the skill that I can box with because people just think like, go in, knock them out, go in two rounds and that's it.
6:20
But I can show that I can go for more than two rounds or one round or whatever it is and look good while I'm doing it.
IanHOST
6:43
You don't like holidays, you don't like breaks, but
6:46
you need it, don't you, at times as well? No, definitely you do.
6:48
You need to recharge, because especially the pro fights, they're tough on your body, they are throughout the camps and all, with little injuries or sicknesses or anything, you need a break after each fight, really.
AlHOST
8:03
Different sort
8:04
of an opponent.
8:04
You're going to come across those lads, aren't you? Yeah, we knew he was going to be like that from before we took the fight.
8:10
So that's what we were expecting.
8:12
We were expecting to go in there, move on a stronger scale rather than going in trying to take him out, you know.
AlHOST
8:30
How is that as a young pro?
8:32
Yeah, like, it's what you need to go to the next level.
8:38
You need to be in tough fights like that.
AlanHOST
19:58
This is the part of your career you're
20:00
enjoying it.
20:01
He didn't want to know.
20:02
That was the whole game plan.
20:04
We knew he was a lot taller.
20:05
We knew he's tall and skinny, so straight away to the body, you know.
20:10
because they don't like big tall skinny lads they don't take body shots well they don't no matter who they are teddy atlas likes to say you put water in the basement yeah so that was the whole game plan straight into the body and then when he drops his hands bring it up and that's what happened sean

How are people going to get tickets? Talk to them and let them know because this is probably the only time we're going to get a few words out of you while the adrenaline is still

You're steeped in the amateur career in boxing and how it's gone for you up to now and how that career progressed.
13:00
Yeah, my amateur career was a lot of ups and downs because right when I was starting to pick up like winning titles and everything, COVID hit, so then I was out for like a good while, you know, same as everyone else, but like, it was never like the dream to go to the Olympics and all, you know, like I never really had that sort of dream, like the way other people have, but, you know, it was good, like getting the European medal and winning loads of Irish titles or whatever, but It was never, like, my main goal to stick with the amateurs, you know?

16:01
affair and we talk about the he's not sitting too far away from me I hope is he that you're not going to you're not going to be truck digs throwing this loss to the fight but no I suppose we talk about the family connection of course it was all stemmed from from your dad who was an accomplished coach and an accomplished boxing man in his own career and we'll talk about those people because the network of people that you've had around you for your amateur career all the way through to right now and it's only getting better as you progress Talk to us, I suppose, those early days and how your dad and the coaching staff were around you.
16:34
Yeah, like, I've always had brilliant coaches, like, no matter where I've been, like, whether it was in Araclow, we had Jim Moore down there, like, he's a, he was an excellent coach, like, and then we were in Docklands, we had Jimmy Halpin and all them lads over there and Even over in Vegas, we're with Wayne.
17:00
So like, no matter where we went, we've always had excellent coaches to learn off.
17:06
And even my dad has been learning off them, like their coaching styles and bringing it into us when he's training us at home, you know.
